2019 EU ‘Strengthening Capacity of Caribbean Civil Society Organisations’

2019 European Union (EU – ‘Strengthening Capacity of Caribbean Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) To Effectively Design & Engage in Public Advocacy Campaigns’ Regional EU-funded Programme

The primary objective of our European Union Advocacy program was to fortify the advocacy capacity of regional Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), empowering them to skillfully formulate and execute comprehensive advocacy strategies. At the heart of this initiative was the deliberate integration of digital tools, strategically employed to facilitate adaptability in the face of evolving challenges and to empower the beneficiaries to harness the full potential of technological advancements.

This program transcended the realm of short-term activities; instead, it represented a strategic investment in the knowledge enrichment of the beneficiaries, particularly in the nuanced domains of policy formulation and implementation. A paramount focus was accorded to enhancing stakeholder engagement capacity, recognizing it as a cornerstone for impactful advocacy. The program extended its influence to key figures in both the public and private sectors, acknowledging the pivotal role of leaders and influencers whose opinions and actions significantly shape policymaking. This encompassed engagement with journalists and the media, development agencies, and prominent non-governmental organizations.

In adopting this multifaceted approach, CMC played a pivotal role in cultivating a more vibrant and responsive civil society. By arming CSOs with enhanced capacities, the program actively contributed to the shaping of policies and instigated positive transformations for those in need. The ripple effect of this strategic advocacy initiative extended beyond immediate results, laying the foundation for sustained impact and the continuous evolution of a dynamic, engaged civil society within the region.
